Description

Abirakast 500 mg contains Abiraterone Acetate, an anti-cancer medication used in the treatment of prostate cancer.
It works by reducing the production of androgens (male hormones) that stimulate the growth of prostate cancer cells, helping to slow or stop disease progression.

Abiraterone Acetate – 500 mg

Indications

• Metastatic Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer (mCRPC)
• Used in combination with prednisone or prednisolone

Dosage & Administration

• Recommended dose: 1000 mg once daily (2 tablets of 500 mg each)
• Take on an empty stomach – at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal
• Swallow tablets whole with water
• To be taken under medical supervision only

Side Effects

Common side effects may include:

• High blood pressure
• Low potassium levels (hypokalemia)
• Fluid retention or swelling
• Fatigue
• Elevated liver enzymes

Regular monitoring of liver function, potassium levels, and blood pressure is recommended during treatment.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to Abiraterone or any component of the formulation
• Severe hepatic impairment
• Women (especially pregnant women) and children — not indicated
