Therapeutic Indications

This medicine is indicated for:

Mechanism of Action

Emtricitabine and Tenofovir are both nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs).
They block the reverse transcriptase enzyme that the HIV virus needs to replicate its genetic material, thereby preventing viral multiplication and reducing viral load in the body.

• Emtricitabine (FTC): Cytidine analog that inhibits viral DNA synthesis.
• Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF): Adenosine monophosphate analog that prevents viral DNA elongation.

Dosage and Administration
