Hepcinat is a direct-acting antiviral medication manufactured by Natco Pharma Ltd. (India).
Its active ingredient, Sofosbuvir 400 mg, is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection across multiple genotypes.

Pharmacological Action

Sofosbuvir is a nucleotide analog inhibitor of the HCV NS5B RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, an enzyme essential for viral replication.
By blocking this enzyme, Hepcinat prevents the virus from multiplying and helps clear it from the body.
The medicine is used as part of combination therapy with other antivirals such as Ledipasvir, Daclatasvir, or Velpatasvir, depending on the HCV genotype.

Indications

• Chronic hepatitis C (genotypes 1–6) in adults
• Patients with or without compensated cirrhosis
• Post-liver transplantation (under physician supervision)

Dosage and Administration

• Recommended dose: 1 tablet (400 mg) once daily, with or without food
• Duration of therapy: typically 12 weeks; may extend to 24 weeks depending on the treatment regimen
• Monotherapy is not recommended — always used in combination with other antiviral agents
