Product description

Lefamulin is the first systemic pleuromutilin antibiotic approved for human use. It inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit at a site unused by other antibiotic classes - which makes it active against strains resistant to macrolides, fluoroquinolones and tetracyclines.

Lefenta 600 by Drug International (Bangladesh) brings this modern molecule at an accessible price. Originally developed for community-acquired pneumonia (oral and IV forms are approved in the US and EU), physicians may also use it beyond approved indications where they find it appropriate. Dosage and administration

In approved indications, the oral dose of lefamulin is 600 mg every 12 hours for 5-7 days (per original product labeling). The exact scheme, duration and monitoring are determined by the physician. Tablets are taken with or without food.
