Levofloxacin Aurovitas coated tablets contain the active ingredient Levofloxacin. Levofloxacin is a quinolone antibiotic. It has a bactericidal effect on bacteria that cause infections in the body.
Composition
The active substance of the drug is Levofloxacin (Levofloxacinum).
Each coated tablet contains 250 mg of levofloxacin (Levofloxacinum) in the form of semi-aqueous levofloxacin
Excipients: tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, crospovidone (type A), magnesium stearate. Tablet shell: hypromellose 6cp, hypromellose 3cp, macrogol 4000, indigocarmine (e 132) varnish, yellow-orange (E 110) varnish, titanium dioxide (E 171), iron oxide red (E 172).
Dosage

Levofloxacin Aurovitas in the form of coated tablets should be administered orally. Tablets should be swallowed whole, they can be taken with meals or between meals. Tablets can be divided into equal doses.
Action
Levofloxacin Aurovitas has an antibacterial effect. The bactericidal effect is provided by Levofloxacin, which belongs to the antibiotics of the fluoroquinolone group.
Indications
Indications for the use of Levofloxacin Aurovita: community-acquired pneumonia; acute pyelonephritis and complicated urinary tract infections; chronic bacterial prostatitis; pulmonary form of anthrax: prevention of infections after contact with bacteria and treatment.
Contraindications
The drug should not be used in the case of: hypersensitivity to the active substance or any component of the drug; epilepsy; tendinitis associated with the use of fluoroquinolones; children and adolescents during the growth period; pregnant women; lactating women.
Side effects
Like any medicine, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone has them.
Side effects that occur frequently (may occur in no more than 1 patient out of 10): sleep problems; headache, dizziness; nausea, vomiting and diarrhea; increased activity of certain liver enzymes in the blood.

Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor if you are: 60 years old or older; takes corticosteroids, sometimes called steroids; has ever had a history of seizures (epileptic seizure); had a history of brain damage caused by a stroke or other brain injury; has kidney problems; has a disorder called "glucose-6 deficiency- has he ever had a mental health problem with dehydrogenase; has he ever had a history of heart problems: caution should be exercised when using this medication if the patient has been diagnosed with an elongation of the QT interval since birth or in his family (seen with an ECG, i.e. in the study of the electrical activity of the heart), the patient has electrolyte disturbances in the blood (especially low levels of potassium or magnesium in the blood), the patient has a slowed heart rate (called "bradycardia"”, the patient's heart function is impaired (heart failure), the patient had a history of heart attack (myocardial infarction), the patient is a woman or an elderly person or taking other medications that cause unusual changes in the ECG recording; if the patient has been found to have an enlarged large blood vessel (aortic aneurysm or large peripheral artery); if the patient has a history of aortic dissection (rupture of the aortic wall); if there have been cases of aortic aneurysm or aortic dissection, other risk factors or predisposing conditions (for example, connective tissue diseases such as Marfan syndrome or the vascular form of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, or blood vessel diseases such as Takayasu arteritis, giant cell arteritis, Behcet's disease, hypertension or confirmed atherosclerosis); suffers from diabetes; has ever had a history of liver problems; suffers from myasthenia gravis; in case of sudden severe pain in the abdomen, back or chest, contact the emergency department immediately; the patient has ever had a severe skin rash or peeling of the skin, blistering and/or mouth ulcers after using levofloxacin.
The drug should be stored in a place that is invisible and inaccessible to children.
Use of other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all the medications you are currently or recently taking, as well as the medications you plan to take, including those that are available without a prescription.
Information is especially important if you use: corticosteroids used for inflammation; warfarin used for blood thinning; theophylline used for breathing problems; nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) used for pain and inflammation (acetylsalicylic acid, Ibuprofen, fenbufen, Ketoprofen, indomethacin); cyclosporine used after organ transplantation; medications that affect the heart rate (antiarrhythmic drugs such as quinidine, hydroquinidine, disopyramide, Sotalol, dofetilide, ibutilide and amiodarone); tricyclic antidepressants such as amitriptyline and imipramine); antipsychotic drugs; "macrolide" antibiotics such as Erythromycin, Azithromycin and Clarithromycin); probenecid used in gout; Cimetidine, used to treat peptic ulcer and heartburn.
