Description

Myshimba contains 2 active ingredients-bupropion and naltrexone. Mysimba tablets are used in overweight and obese adults.

This drug is an additional element for weight loss while maintaining a diet and adequate physical activity.

Composition

The active ingredients are: naltrexone and bupropion.

Each tablet contains 8 mg of naltrexone hydrochloride, equivalent to 7.2 mg of naltrexone, and 90 mg of bupropion hydrochloride, equivalent to 78 mg of bupropion.

Excipients: tablet core: cysteine hydrochloride, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, magnesium stearate, anhydrous lactose, lactose monohydrate, crospovidone type A, aluminum varnish with indigotine (E132), hypromellose, disodium edetate, colloidal silica. tablet shell: polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide (E171), Macrogol 3350, talc, aluminum varnish with indigotine (E132).

Dosage

The dosage, dosage and frequency of taking Mysimba tablets is determined by the doctor. If in doubt, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

This drug is used orally according to the appropriate scheme. Doses are gradually increased depending on the week of treatment.

Action

Myshimba contains active substances that affect areas of the brain (central action) associated with controlling the amount of food (food) consumed and energy expenditure. The effect of this drug is a decrease in appetite (appetite).

Indications

Mysimba is indicated for the treatment of obesity and overweight, where the BMI is respectively:

  • ≥30kg / m2 (obese),
  • from 27 kg / m2 to <30 kg / m2 (overweight) if you have one or more diseases associated with obesity (for example, type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, compensated hypertension).

Contraindications

Do not use this medicine if you have developed hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the other components of this medicine. Some diseases, such as hypertension, epilepsy, seizures (also in the anamnesis), cancer in the central nervous system, chad (bipolar disorder), anorexia or mental gluttony, liver dysfunction, kidney failure, are contraindications to use.

Other contraindications to the use of Myshimba are:

  • taking bupropion or naltrexone for a purpose other than weight loss,
  • taking antidepressants of the maoi group (this also applies to the period of the last 14 days from the end of taking these drugs).

if a patient who is addicted to alcohol or benzodiazepines suddenly stops taking these substances, they should also not take this medicine.

Side effects

Like any medicine, Mysimba can cause side effects, although not everyone has them.

If you experience an epileptic seizure while using this medicine, you should see your doctor immediately.

Very common (occurs in more than 1 in 10 people) :
vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, headache, sleep problems, anxiety, psychomotor agitation, muscle and joint pain.

Common (occurs in less than 1 in 10 people) :
decreased appetite, fever, diarrhea, epigastric pain, chest pain, excessive sweating, hives, rash, hair loss.

Warnings and precautions

The use of this medication should be discussed with your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, vascular diseases of the brain, liver and/or kidney problems, or a history of mania episodes.

The drug should be used with caution in elderly patients (over 65 years of age). It is not recommended for use in patients over 75 years of age.

The use of Mysimba may be associated with the occurrence of epileptic seizures, an allergic reaction. In such cases, you should immediately stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

Combined use of Myshimba and alcohol may be associated with the risk of epileptic seizures, episodes of mental disorders, and decreased tolerance to alcohol.

Use of other medications

Inform your doctor or pharmacist about any medications that the patient is currently or recently taking, as well as any medications that the patient plans to take.

Mysimba may interact with specific medications or groups of medications, such as MAO inhibitors, opiates, steroids, antimalarials, quinolones or amantadine, Ticlopidine, valproate, tramadol.

Pregnancy and lactation

Mysimba should not be used during lactation and pregnancy.

Use of the drug in children and adolescents

The drug Mysimba is used for strictly defined indications in adults. Do not use this medicine in children, adolescents, or people under the age of 18.

Driving and operating cars

The drug can cause dizziness, that is, a symptom that affects the concentration, reaction rate.

If they occur, the patient should refrain from driving a car and / or operating equipment.
