Description

Samyr contains S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine, a naturally occurring compound in the body involved in amino acid metabolism and neurotransmitter synthesis. It supports liver function, detoxification, and mood regulation, and is used as adjunct therapy for certain depressive conditions and hepatic disorders.

Indications

• Liver disorders: Chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, cholestasis.
• Depressive disorders: Mild to moderate depression or depressive symptoms associated with liver dysfunction.
• Adjunct therapy: Supportive treatment in metabolic or hepatic insufficiency.

Dosage & Administration

• Route: Intravenous (IV) or intramuscular (IM) injection.
• Typical dose: 400–800 mg per day, depending on clinical condition.
• Treatment duration: Usually 15–20 days; may transition to oral formulation after initial therapy.
• Administration: Should be performed under medical supervision.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine or excipients.
• History of bipolar disorder or manic episodes.
• Severe renal impairment (use with caution).
