Pharmacological Action

Suvreza is a combination lipid-lowering medicine:

• Rosuvastatin – an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor that reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver
• Ezetimibe – reduces intestinal absorption of cholesterol

Together, they effectively lower total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, while increasing HDL cholesterol.

Indications

Used for:

• primary hypercholesterolemia
• mixed dyslipidemia
• cardiovascular risk reduction
• patients not adequately controlled on statin therapy alone

Dosage and Administration

• Taken orally, usually once daily
• Can be taken with or without food
• Dosage should be individualized by a physician

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to components
• active liver disease
• severe renal impairment
• pregnancy and breastfeeding
• myopathy

Warnings and Precautions

• Monitor liver function and lipid levels
• Use caution with other lipid-lowering drugs
• Maintain a cholesterol-lowering diet
