Product description

Citicoline is a naturally occurring compound in the human body and an intermediate in the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine, the main structural phospholipid of brain cell membranes. By supporting phospholipid metabolism, citicoline helps stabilize neuronal membranes, supports the production of neurotransmitters (dopamine and acetylcholine) and improves cerebral blood flow. The substance has been studied in clinical practice for decades and is used in Europe, Asia and Latin America as part of stroke and cognitive therapy.

Ceraxon by Ferrer contains citicoline, a nucleotide widely used in neurology as neuroprotective and neurorepair therapy. Injectable form provides high bioavailability and is used in acute conditions and rehabilitation after stroke and brain injury.

Indications

• acute and rehabilitation period of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
• traumatic brain injury and its neurological consequences
• cognitive disorders and vascular encephalopathy, as prescribed by a physician

Dosage and administration

Acute conditions: 1000 mg (one 4 ml ampoule) IV or IM every 12 hours, as prescribed by a physician. Maintenance therapy: 500-1000 mg per day. The course duration is determined by the doctor.
