Fampyra® 10 mg (fampridine)

Fampyra® contains fampridine (4-aminopyridine) and is indicated to improve walking ability in adult patients with multiple sclerosis (MS).

It belongs to potassium channel blockers and enhances nerve impulse conduction in damaged nerve fibers, helping to improve walking speed and mobility.

Each tablet contains:

• Fampridine — 10 mg

Indications

Used for:

• improving walking ability in adults with multiple sclerosis
• increasing walking speed
• enhancing endurance and stability

Mechanism of Action

Fampridine:

• blocks potassium channels
• improves conduction in demyelinated nerves
• enhances neuromuscular transmission

Administration

• usually 10 mg twice daily
• approximately 12-hour interval
• swallow tablets whole; do not crush, split, or chew
• may be taken with or without food

Contraindications

• hypersensitivity to fampridine
• history of seizures
• severe renal impairment
• concomitant use of other fampridine products
