Tiche is a modern levothyroxine formulation in soft gel capsules by IBSA. Unlike classic tablets, the hormone is dissolved in a gel matrix - which improves absorption consistency and reduces sensitivity to stomach contents. Take it the same way each day (ideally fasting in the morning) for stable TSH control.
Levothyroxine replaces or supplements the natural thyroid hormone (T4) in hypothyroidism and after thyroid surgery. It is one of the most prescribed medicines in the world. Original Italian product by IBSA.
The dose is strictly individual, set by the endocrinologist based on TSH/T4 levels, body weight and age. Take once daily in the morning on an empty stomach, 30-60 minutes before breakfast, with water. Soft capsules are swallowed whole.
The dose must be selected precisely - that is why Tiche comes in 12 strengths from 13 to 200 mcg: the physician can titrate exactly, without splitting tablets. Never change the dose without lab control.
Overdosing symptoms: palpitations, weight loss, sweating, tremor, insomnia. Underdosing: fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance. Regular TSH monitoring (typically every 6-12 weeks during titration) keeps the dose correct. Take levothyroxine and any interacting medicines (iron, calcium supplements) at least 4 hours apart.
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, protect from light. Keep out of reach of children.
In the gel matrix, levothyroxine is already dissolved - absorption is more consistent and less dependent on stomach acidity, food timing and GI conditions. Many patients with unstable TSH on tablets switch to gel capsules by physician decision.
Levothyroxine dosing is extremely precise: a 12 mcg difference matters. Having 12 strengths allows exact titration without splitting tablets or alternating doses.
Often yes - the molecule is the same. However, brand switches are usually followed by a TSH check after 6-8 weeks (different excipients can slightly change absorption). Discuss with the endocrinologist.
Take it as soon as you remember in the morning; if it is already afternoon, skip and continue the next day. Never take a double dose.
For stable absorption, take on an empty stomach with water, 30-60 minutes before food. Coffee reduces absorption - wait at least 30-60 minutes.
