Isovorin (Leucovorin) 7.5 mg Tablets (Levofolinic Acid)

Description

Isovorin® contains levofolinic acid (L-leucovorin), a biologically active form of folate. It plays a key role in DNA synthesis, cell division, and metabolic processes.

Unlike folic acid, levofolinic acid does not require metabolic activation, allowing for faster biological activity.

Use in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Levofolinic acid is used in certain cases in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), particularly when:

• folate deficiency is present
• folate metabolism impairment is identified
• folate receptor autoantibodies are detected
• speech and cognitive delays are observed

Some clinical studies suggest potential improvement in language, attention, and behavioral outcomes in a subset of children with ASD.

⚠ Use in autism should only be under medical supervision and based on clinical evaluation.
