Lamictal contains lamotrigine, a modern antiepileptic of the phenyltriazine class. It stabilizes neuronal membranes by modulating sodium channels and reducing glutamate release - which prevents excessive electrical activity in the brain without the heavy sedation typical of older anticonvulsants.

Indications
