Aracytine 100 mg is an antineoplastic drug belonging to the antimetabolite (pyrimidine analog) group.
Active ingredient: Cytarabine 100 mg.

Used in the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), and meningeal leukemia. Cytarabine inhibits DNA synthesis in rapidly dividing malignant cells, leading to cell death.

Pharmaceutical Form

• Powder and solvent for injection.
• Each vial contains 100 mg of Cytarabine.
• For intravenous, subcutaneous, or intrathecal administration.

Mechanism of Action

Cytarabine converts intracellularly into its active form (ARA-CTP), which competes with deoxycytidine in DNA synthesis, blocking replication and inducing apoptosis in leukemic cells.

Indications

• Acute myeloid leukemia (AML)
• Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)
• Chronic myeloid leukemia in blast crisis
• Meningeal leukemia

Dosage and Administration

• Individualized by an oncologist.
• Typical regimen: 100–200 mg/m²/day for 5–10 days IV infusion.
• Intrathecal or subcutaneous routes for CNS involvement or maintenance therapy.

Adverse Reactions

Myelosuppression, nausea, fever, mucositis, CNS toxicity (rare in high doses). Monitoring of blood counts is essential.

Storage

Store below 25 °C, in the original packaging, protected from light and moisture. Use immediately after reconstitution.
